"if res removed from planet", aye, and there you've hit part of the problem. The capture issue is easy (in fact, I'm thinking of implementing it anyway, since it makes sense), but leaving the res on the planet requires querying the market for any action which involves resources. Further, will this not leave the same problem for which total limits were suggested to begin with?

Being able to trade on the market from a ship would be cool so and having the sellers name next to the res would be most excellent both from a free market perspective and from the perspective of being able to place trade sanctions on players from time to time. We would also be able to see who is flooding markets and who is using it to hide res from capture. No need to limit res on market if we see names Perhaps if they place too much of their stock on the market there could be a hostile take over bid button which would allow other players to buy a percentage of the res hidden in safety on the market and also get them the planet or ship that the res was being traded from

Well, it seems a some form of tax for buying your own res seems popular, and is easy enough to implement. My main concern over leaving res on the planet is "the recs should still be on plannet or ship but inaccesable unless you cancel sale post" that that is very much easier to say than to do . It's like saying that TCP packets should be allowed to arrive out of order, and the receiver needs to reorder them on their end, but quite another to implement a sliding window algorithm ;P. Otoh, taxing people who buy back their own stuff is about as easy to do as to say, and adding a page to let people see their own offers isn't much harder than it sounds either. So for me, any solution which doesn't take weeks to implement is slightly preferable to one that does ;P.
