nineyII my saturday team has more chance of beating Italy than the USA do. There's no connection in your play, it's disjointed and nearly all route 1. To put it bluntly, going forward you are awful. Italy are one of the best sides in the world going forward and they are strong at the back, I'd be suprised if they do not score at least 3.

No skill. Mediocre, boring players make up the USA line-up; against Italy, it will just be a slaughter if the Italians get a early goal.

Have to agree with Hope that England won't win...but Ecuador? Yes, Greece won Euro 04 but still...

No I watched the USA in their qualifying games too, there's no spark or conjunction between players. The Czech Republic aren't as good a side as they looked against USA, but the style of play that the USA has allows other teams to play and that's why they lost, they let Czech play.

Am I going to call USA awful? No of course not, they wouldn't have made it into the World Cup if they were. But qualifying from the American groups is far easier than the European groups, I just think that the most European teams outclass the USA in every way (Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, England etc...)

They did well, they looked pretty certain to beat Italy until the third sending off.

To hold off the Italians with only 9 men on the pitch and still create chances was great stuff.

Well done the USA, here's hoping that they find a way of qualifying for the knockout stages.

Aye, I'll eat a fairly large amount of humble pie after that game, well played USA. Although I was rather disappointed in Italy.

One problem I will sight though (damn, you must think I'm really anti-USA, I'm not at all), a lack of goals, two games, one goal, and that was an own goal... someone in the squad needs to find their shooting boots.

The problem USA have is that this is no longer in their own hands, Ghana did them a favour by beathing Czech. But now USA need to beat Ghana and pray that Italy beat the Czechs so that they can go through.

Another problem, as things stand, if the USA finish 2nd in their group (the only position they can now finish) they will play the 1st place team from group F. As things stand that is Australia. However, it is more than likely that the team to finish top of that group will be none other than Brazil.
