As for why SF- it has to do with the propensity of some players to wipe out new players before they even learn the game.
There was a time when SF and company ruled the game.
I did not give up a HW, he lost one. That is all that is left.
Secondly new players need to have some of the dead wood cleared out.
This game is about scores and by attacking a inactive player I accomplish two goals:
1. I get points.
2. I clear out what are basically un-used planets and create room for new players to have a HW in that does not have a nearby planet of an inactive player.
With me the added advantage of not hurting an inactive player.
I want new players to have room and time to learn how to play the game with out them having to suffer repeated defeats.
