Everytime i look through the forums, you find this sea of topics

Some are announcements, some are sticky

Most are general

As announcements are the most important they are located at the top of the forums, but besides from the shading of some little page, there is no real barrier between these and other types of topics

Again the same can be said about sticky topics and the same again for normal topics.

Colours and font

Another thing i get but i still don't understand, is the colour scheme, the forums look grey, dull, and boring. No i don't think colours are what brings in new players but i know well that colour can be used to make the game look more inviting.

Black on grey, is really not the best of colour schemes, yes all people can make the writing out, but at the same time its like black and blue, they really shouldn't go together as you can misread them, again not really important, just something else about the forums

Unread/Read Topics

I like the fact we are now alerted to topics that you have not read, but there are other times, when you look at the topic names, and you can see no particular reason for reading that topic other than making that red go away.

A way to basically wipe out the red from each forum for each player would to me be very very nice

Archive

I am a great fan of the general keep all post thing, but when the support forum has 27 pages its really just a waste of space, I like the history but seriously it is a waste of disk space and makes everything look seriously untidy, archiving topics after say a month, then delete after 4-6 months i think would be more than good enough for 99.99% of topics brought up into the game

I know bug fixes are gonig on, and i know they are more important than the matters i have brought up above. However when we reset, I think a General overhaul of the skins of the game, may attract players more, and make the game more pleasing on the eye at random late times of the night, like most of us find ourselves doing, or is that just me and SS

Please suggest a/ colo[u]r scheme(s). I've had design upgrades in mind for a while, but my design sense is not the greatest ^^. Let me know what you think.

I'm generally for keeping old forums. They are indexed by Google, and the more pages you have indexed, the more traffic you get.

quite agreed. but i have to say that dark red + black is a hellofalot easier on the mostly nightly eyes here.

Chaos: I agree about the indexed content, though I hadn't considered that regarding a flush of the db. Very good reason.

TD3rd: Yeah, no lots of moving things... I'm old fashioned and cranky also .

SS: Yeah, been thinking about a CSS facelift to the site, as we can do more with recent browsers... Of course, I'd still need to worry about the occasional IE5/Fx 1.0 users. (And Opera, Safari, Lynx, Konquerer, Seamonkey, Kmellion, Nautillus, and the list goes on ).

Still, it's a lower priority than those strings, etc .
