i think there should be a stealth civilization where their planets can only be found by probing, these should be quite valuable

There needs to be something done about these green planets. No Pray, I won't shut up, you said it yourself - I'm right. Things should not stay the same because it is easier to do so - it was easier for Martin Luther King to sit in his Parish and preach to people, it was easier for the Americans to sit back and accept British rule. Did either do this? No! They took the hard road and things were better for them because of it. Okay, these are extreme examples but it illustrates the point well. Green Planets are no different to others and the sheer mass of them clogging the universe is damaging to all who play the game - the probers, newbies, players low on planets, everyone suffers in some way.

I like Abe's idea of green planets "growing up" and becoming SPC. Of course, that fits in with my earlier theory of green planets culture not emitting radio waves, etc. Once they get to a certain point (maybe x16 or so), SPC notices their emissions and shows up to add them to the confederation. And eventually aliens show up and take over.

That would decrease the number of greens in the galaxy in a stable way, and would probably fit in with the current efforts to balance resources.

I would say at a minimum that Greens should not grow up until they are x20 planets, and even then, only some of them should "grow up" at random when "discovered" by SPC.

They also could be captured by Alien Invaiders, but in that case, there would be no news broadcast, as they got an uncolonized system and thus, there would be no one to broadcast the news of the alien invasion.

That sounds like a really good solution.

lets just have an alien invasion period. of crazy super beings with vast resources, and they attack at random and know everything. and then SL must unite to defeat them.

right, it will simply be a race for the alins hws nothing else, at least fro the first weeks, then slowly less and less hw's will be taken, less aliens hw's will be taken after a while, then we will still ahev the same problem we have now, except we will have a new kind of hws, aliens.

Probes work on psycho-brain-wave-thingy which travels faster than light and detects only planets with huge amounts of smart lifeforms

But that's offtopic. Were those planets made by administrators, or by hacker who uses 1000 greens to produce resources?
