During September 2006 round and thereafter, until further notice, we will continue to have an increase in the credits awarded for all round winners (both individual and alliance awards). The normal awards will be increased to 500% (five times) their normal or nominal level. Thus, for these two rounds only, the following awards of credits will be made:

First place player - 5000 credits
Second place - 1500 credits
Third place - 750 credits
Fourth place - 500 credits
Fifth place - 250 credits
Class B, C, D, and E winners - 500 credits each

Winning alliance in points for round - 2500 credits
Winning alliance in points per member - 2500 credits (must have at least three members)

This bonus has been extended until we have a new revised credit award system in place, which will depend partly on some consensus about credit award changes being reached. As consensus on change seems unlikely to happen quickly, it is likely that the current system will remain in place for a while.

Alternatively, a new point scheme may be introduced by game administrators without player consensus at the option of the administrators, but until this is done, the current bonus credit system will remain in effect.

I doubt it will make a difference in anyone's actions. We are early in the round now, and most attacks happen during last half of the round generally. Also, it was posted based on recent suggestion in another forum, and in part, due to a change in defense formula which will happen next round at the start of the round.

Finally, this is a one time bonus. I will consider revising point awards after this round, but they will not be this high.

they are not reallu high even now
5000 credits even with low prices of troops like 30 credits per 100k means around 16-17 mln of troops, which is enough to train and load 8-9 assaults, which will give 135-150k points.
Looking to points of last round winners, 5000 credits is around 1/7th or even less of the amount you need to win the round, and 1/3 of these credits you need for upgrades.

lol.... Filas, is EVERYTHING is always bad for you so how much would you like 50k creds of course it doesnt pay off, just imagine : a player takes the 1st place and all of a sudden he gets all his recs back. then he takes 1st place again and again, and again - cuz he not only regains the recs, but also keeps growing them. 5k is enough.

sure, the award should not pay all the expences, but it could be something around 1/4 of used res. Also if we had bigger awards, means we had more credits and would need more troops to be able to fight for top places. So prices for troops would go up and wouldn't be as low as now.

The main problem of awards now that only few player can get them - most of player just can decide that this round they won't be able to fight for top5 and don't even try to get more points.
System suggested by me would make every place in top20 a bit attractive. Also it would inject credits enough for 20 players to get full upgrades - so we'd always had some constant credits flow, which can be higher because of players purchasing credits, but never lower than this, so at least 20 player could buy upgrades every round.
