my advise on fighter training is to use 4 transports with 49k defense and zero counter attack. It is easy to train a fighter with four shots that way, although it probably costs a little more than using 200 minimum volume transports or assaults for training due to the high price of silicon on the market currently.

Of course, although untrained assaults can work to take out a HW, that also is much less satisfying and more frustrating to have to crash three times as many ships with three times as many troops. The net cost is not a lot lower with trained assaults, but it is nicer to have two or three extra trained assaults in reserve than to have six to nine untrained 500k assaults in place.

AGUX, there is luck involved. If you are facing me in battle and I make a mistake, this is luck for you, because I have done something I shouldn't have done that you can take advantage of, for me this is bad strategy. But for you, this has no bearing on whether your strategy has been good or bad, it is PURELY good luck for you.
