Yes, this is not bad. And, it was 18 turrets, not 17. You killed them all. Once you got them below about 6 turrets, I bet the last 6 were pretty easy to kill.

well i was getting low on silicon, so i used a 101% fighetrs to kill the last 2 , but i din't get any experience from tkilling them

Turrets don't get experience, and ships don't get experience from killing turrets. Ships only get experience from killing other ships.

But, both turrets and fighters get points from killing each other in the battle for capturing control of planet airspace.

each turret, on average, hits with 3.5k attack. each fighter has 7/40th chance of taking out turret, or about 1/6th per turret. It takes three turrets to kill a fighter, so, in theory, two fighters should be able to take out one turret before dying. However, there is some uncertainty involved in the numbers, so it could take as many as three times as many untrained fighters as there are turrets, so plan on that number to be reasonably safe. You might get lucky, but ...
