Agreed. Iiridayn's proposal would work much better than the old way of linking ships to planets. We would have the "benefits" of such a linkage (risk of loss of ship or at least resources on the ship if planet they are assigned to is lost) and we would avoid the random loss of ships.

Just a thought: point rewards for holding a big HW? Just remembered CJ's proposed "defender points" and "attacker points".

Yeah, I liked CJ's recommendation in that regard. It would enable more defense related points without destroying the recognition of points value for attackers.

Proff, Iri'ssuggestion would be a strong incentive to keep them as far away from HW's as you can That way if you lose your HW you would loose all of your other resources as well. It would be less of a threat to keep 1 ship tied to 1 system so at the most only 1 is at risk at a time.
