Truly, time. Cajin reminded me today to fix some things so I'm poking around a bit.

The game won't end until nobody comes. I've been playing with the idea of giving up hosting and releasing the code AGPL or something if we go "x" rounds without any points, for an undetermined value of x. The database would have to remain private since it has confidential information, but it would enable someone else to run the game in a not-for-profit manner.

If I did though, we'd never be able to get the domain back from wicked domain squatters, so that would well and truly end discoverability.

At least for now costs to host (both time and financial) are low enough that I can keep this up indefinitely. However, at some point I'll pass away (still probably years off, I'm 40 at present), and we don't have a governance structure to manage the game beyond that point.
