Should assaults potential experience be raised to 300%? This would make them do 2M damage and it would cost around 2M for an assault then when you calculate in the iron cost also.

Maybe not. We dont know exactly how the game designer balanced it. For that we would need to take in account a lot of other things and maybe tweak a few other things as well. That would require access to the game design document which we do not.
