you cant warp in newbie arena anyways, it's not there, you were in real arena when you started, it's unfortunate, but there's your reason.
you should have closed account and started in newbie arena with a new name, or had someone defeat you so that you were put in newbie, in any case, it was unfortunate but not unforseeable. -if you saw a vet, you should have known you were in real arena from the beggining, not trying to be unsupportive, but you nobody can blame fortran for defeating a person in the real arena, who didnt notice they were in fact, in the real arena.

i cant say there is a reason for you being placed in real arena from the start but i promise you werent in newbie and got attacked by a vet, not if you found the warp and warped.

So i checked out the one SP system i had found, turns out the other guy had ignored them, so i sent my little 10k assault on its way. 24 hours later it got there, but i realized that these SPs now had 11k def, and i'd be wasting the ship. So i built a bigger 50k assault and sent it out (this time it took 12 hours because i decided to chance the deep i-flight option) due to arrive at about 3 AM local time. By the time it got there and i woke up to check on it, I had one planet left, nosferatu had hit my 200k def planet and another i had making iron. In what i can only assume was a show of mercy, he left one of my planets and all of my ships alive. I killed the assault that he left there, built another assault with the few res i had on the one planet (in a sense of urgency, i just bought 100k G from the market instead of waiting for the measly 500 thats needed to build an assault) and retook the planets, which he left at 0 def and with most of the res untouched (again, mercy? or was he just too busy to take it?). but now I had no troops to take the system i sent the 50k assault to, so i set everything to produce T as fast as it would go. Next time I logged on, it was the new round, and I was sitting in the newbie arena and had missions to complete. my personal news didn't tell me anything, and it was actually this thread that informed me what had happened. It was sort of like walking into my own funeral, though I must say I'm flattered that you guys made a deal out of it

I didn't say that i was unaware of being placed in the Real Arena, and I don't blame Fortran for defeating me. As a matter of fact i sent a PM to Nosferatu thanking him for leaving my one planet and I asked EL not to intervene when we suspected that Marvel Magnum was invading my system. At least two people have offered me aid in the way of res., ships, or planets, and though i really do appreciate their kind offers, i declined in order to see if I could make it on my own . As it happens, I couldn't, but I'm not saying it was unfair that it happened the way it did, I asked for it. Now that its done and i'm back in the newb arena, i'm just trying to relate what i'm doing and thinking in the off chance that it provides some insight into the way startup players react to the learning curve of the game.

but yeah dude im sure anyone here would give any new player resources / other help if they showed signs of activity and lasted till they got out of newbie.

just mistyped and redid it (it had said you all cant, but due to the fact there's 1 word that means the same, nobody, i figured i'd use it because it's shorter), but forgot to backspace all the way, it really was pointed towards the vets that were even making a big deal of it, it's not like you were the only person reacting, if anything you seem to be the calmest person posting here about it. chalk it up to defending fortran, not really trying to offend you im sorry if i came off that way. i just meant to voice the opinion that i didnt think he was to blame.
