We have finally figured out why news achive does not work.

There was an optional module of php that we did not install, as it is not standard or commonly used in php, but it is required for the news archives to work.

We have the news data saved, but we don't yet have it in a format that players can easily download and use.

To install this module, we will have to take down the server for about an hour. Not sure when this will happen, but probably sometime on Sunday night or Monday morning server time. You will see a message that the server is temporarily down for minor maintenance when we are making this php functionality and feature upgrade.
