My Fellow Americans, our nation is in a time of great need. The war, which has been brought to our front door by the sinking of the Lusitania and the interception of the Zimmermann note, is costing us many valuable resources and funds. To help alleviate the pressure caused by the strain of demand for wartime goods we must help the allied forces win this great battle, but first we must first win it at home. Now you may say to yourself, “I am just a regular person, how can I help win a war?” Well it is much easier than it sounds. There are many ways that you as a citizen of this great nation can help, and one of these ways is to buy liberty bonds to help pay for the great cost of fighting a war, another way to help is to grow a victory garden. A victory garden will allow you to grow your own produce and help increase the amount of food supplies that are available to take over to our boys fighting over seas. With your help we can win this war! You have the responsibility to help with the war effort. There are many other ways to help with the war such as joining the labor force. The army need many supplies and equipment and by working in factories that are building tanks, weapons, clothing, you can help save the lives of many soldiers and bring victory to the allies. There are many young men in he audience and there are many gaps in the ranks of or fighting force. Our army need strong men to help win this war and when you enlist in the army not only will you be protecting your friends and family, the ideas of freedom and democracy that we believe in, but you will also be fighting an evil that must be contained. This war is not just a battle of flesh and bone but also a battle of Good vs. Evil, Freedom vs. Imprisonment, and Dictatorship vs. Democracy! We are the greatest nation of the world and we have the responsibility, no the burden of putting countries in their place, it is a necessary fact of life that we can not escape. So I ask that you, my friends, colleagues, brothers, fellow Americans, fight for what truly matters, fight for liberty and justice! Do not hesitate! Our time is short and we must win the great battle! Thank you and God Bless America!

fraid I have issues with this bit. it wasnt good vs evil, even to their minds, nor was it a war for freedom or democracy. also america was v. definately not the greatest nation on earth at the time. remember that before WW1 USA was pretty much neutral, while the british empire circled the earth...

also at no time do you mention who you are fighting with or who you are fighting against.

you might also wanna pick a more specific date, either the ship has just been sunk, in which case mention it, or the war has being going on for some time - putting stress on the need for goods and so on - just seems a bit like you're trying to encompass the entire period in one speach. [hope im not being too critial.. but you asked for it! ]

Yeah you are doing the whole war in one go. You need to keep it based upon what we knew prior to our joining..... I'd keep it with a sentamental approach. Our friend the french whom we owe our own liberty are in a fight for their very country.... Also remember that the large movements in Ammerica were mainly isolasionists and peace movements. The world is slowly being encircled by a global war, you need to make your audience understand that their are no sidelines that war will come to us if we do not bring it to them....That our very nation, and national identity and the fate of the world could rest on where we place our financial weight, and the force of our arms...WE must turn the plowshares into swords.... etc....

Think of Hitler, there was a man who could rant, Bring out all of the biases you can think of all of the hate you can dream up. Make stuff up.... Remember that your evidence for picking a side is weak and that it was made mostly because of economic reasons... As we lost our ability to sell to the germans due to brittish blockades we increased sales to England and the other Allied powers... We became invested in their victory so that they could afford to pay their bills...
