It's always harder the higher you go. *sigh* :D

I remember my first grading; my face was green from being nervous, but the things we did were so simple. The entire thing lasted for about ten minutes. lol. Now, my gradings take up to an hour and you're so exhausted by the end of it, that you don't really care whether you made it or not. :D Well, you do, but still...

Last grading, when I went for my black piece of tape :D, I started by doing my two forms (stances?), went on with doing all my sajus in one go (I really, really hate that!;), then one-step sparring, then self-defense techniques, then sparring, and at the end the examinator ask you a ton of questions about the stuff you're supposed to have learned. I got asked about the history of Hwa-Rang (one of my forms) and what a palkup yopdwi tulgi is. He went easy on me. :D You should have heard the questions he asked some of the others. Enough to give any taekwon-do student nightmares! :D Makes me wish for the early days when the examinator only asked simple questions like what sonkal is, what your next belt color symbolizes and which part of the foot you hit with when you do a side kick.
And then as a special surprise for all of us, the examinator threw in fifty push-ups before he told us whether we had passed or not.

lol dang thats harsh... sparring and stances (ya forms) come easy to me... and i like when we get to break boards thats always fun :D ... but its when u gotta memorize the terms and definitions that i get nervous.. i just try my hardest to relax and it usually ends up goin pretty smooth.. lol i remember when my sister was testin for her green belt she had to spar with my instructor and when the instructor turned to the right my sis did a jumping hook kick and nailed her in the side of the head.. lol she got laid out flat

Oh, that's brilliant! Lol! We're not allowed to do that. We are only allowed to do semi-contact, though it usually gets a little bit out of hand. Like in the Norwegian Championship sparring final last year; I got my ass seriously kicked. The people who watched the match said I actually spun in the air after she landed a roundhouse in the side of my head

I love breaking boards too. At my last grading, I broke a board with a flying side kick, jumping over two people lying on the ground. I'd never done it before, but the board broke on the first try. *PROUD*
I was supposed to break a board using sonkal as well, but I didn't get to do it, because I'm a girl and some examinators are stupid that way.

Hey, Mazera...I used to play footie too. On a boys team. :D
