maybe u could send emails out to the players gonna be deleted warning them first? i know i wouldnt like my account to be deleted without some sort of warning

Ok...just look for all of the actives and inactives. (stay with me. )

Start with the actives, then the inactives that have big HW's (and should return) but didn't log on in like 6 months.

Delete everyone else.

Yes, some good points have been raised. Players with planets will not be deleted, even if inactive. Thus, the planets will still be available to be captured.

As for military service, you will have to go for at least six months without logging into the game once. If you know you will be gone longer than six months in military service or otherwise, ask for permission for a mate to log in for you once a month or so.

Iiridayn will be gone for two years, and I plan to log on once every four months to keep his account alive. There will be no problems with getting permission to do this for others if needed, as long as there is no interaction between accounts and the "account sitting" is done with prior request and authorization (this will not be viewed as multi activity if you have permission to do such "account sitting" logins, but you can not actually play the account while "account sitting".

This will be done as a clean up on an occasional basis, and cleanups will be announced in advance, and never will be done for accounts with activity within six months. In addition, accounts with planets will not be deleted.

What about great, legendary players such as zyx, (Is he even active?) who have no planets?
Let us say zyx has not played SL in 6 months (I know he has but,) and has no planets.

(His profile says he does not have any planets, I know there was a bug for newer players that it showed that they had no planets, but in reality they had 1-2.)

Also, add in that if that they are in a clan too they are safe from account deletion. I would bet some members of LTC and TS and even maybe CiDG and SC or any other clan, are dormant (or so they seem) and may have no planets, yet had a great impact on the game, or were just great people. They would hate having their account deleted.

Well if they are inactive, and become active again they can always recreate their accounts

one thing i think thou prof, if the player has points over say 25k total, their names should be saved, to prevent new players coming along and taking age old players names, although even if you didn't do that, we would quickly know who was an old player and who was not, at the end of the day this will probably speed up the server to no end, and would seriously help efficency

And i have no objections

Oh and can we make old accounts again???
