hope to god you have a strong enough hw, or empty and oblit every other planet in your hw system

Yes- make sure that it is not your own ship.
Clear out.
Defending a planet only makes for points to the attacker.
Pirate what you can.
You can abandon the planet to Sp and retake if they do not obliterate it.
Make sure that no other planets of yours can be detected before giving to Sp.
Check your history, see if it was detected.
