not sure why the lag, but server memory usage reached over 90% last night.

Had system admin person check it today, and he said, yes, this is bad.

Restarted Apache and memory usage is down to normal now. We have a memory leak somewhere, but not sure where or why.

I remember Iiridayn saying something about restarting Apache once a week, or something like that, to keep server running smoothly. Well, it has been 47 days since Apache was restarted, which appears to be too long to go without a restart of this important enabling applications software.

In theory, such a restart should be unnecessary, but there is something in the code which is not releasing memory when it should be doing so.

so if its restarted liek once a week it should stop ? can u just script and auto reset every 7 days?

I do not think you can autoscript this, but it can be done once a week, and should keep things running more smoothly.
