try AiDG when Professer and I founded it over 2 years ago we where trying to be just a good traning clan now it has become somthing grater also if you join AiDG and become a strong player you will have the chance to join CiDG one of the oldest clans in SL if you would like to join AiDG please PM alpha code he will give you the password

I think you should make allies and try to survive on your own for a little while.... you will make many more contacts throughout the game... it's more dangerous but if you are just getting started it will give you a chance to really see how the clans work and to meet people in most if not all of the different clans...

By waiting for a week before joining you can make a more educated decision - plus you can work on NAP's alliances with others around you which will improve your position..... most vets (not all) will be understanding if a new player sends a PM that says they are new to the game and to please not attack their planet for a while or to grant a NAP.....

Clans can be much help in getting spread out across the galaxy faster and for having coords for attacking or for helping to defend your planets - but with warp and trade you can likely do alright on your own.... I have played both in clans and out of clans and think there are advantages/disadvantages to both.....

Friendship and trust take time - and while new players need help i am often skeptical of how much clans are helping/training new players... I think it may be best to find a mentor or two to help answer your questions or help get you estabilished...
