Well ya, thats basicly same thing with successful chance increasing just worded better.

Well...lets let a programmer consider this.

Might be kinda hard to program, but will see what they say.

I don't think it will be; it's definitely a good idea.

Hmm ya that would be a good idea. In the planet launching screen it could have under normal/deep space, say Launch Pad or something like that, and then you could choose from normal to 16x normal speed or however how fast would be best. Maybe just a max of 10x faster to make it easy, with each rising possible chance of loosing ship by 2%, so for 10x faster it would be 20% failure chance or 80% successful flight chance.

Thats true though, it would become useless as nobody would use it if it had a failure chance, outside of small assulats you don't care about. Instead of having failure chance just having it like drift/normal/extreme flight would be better, with it taking Uranium plus Hydrogen to use and so at 16x faster it would take 16x more fuel. Expensive, yes, but hey your gonnil be crossing to the other side of the living space in like 15 mins so.

How about they just get the D@mn stable warp working and then you can have your ship route through the closest clan affiliated gate.

Hmm. Doesn't sound too bad. Another check in the iflight page for the building (and being docked on said planet), with enabling options if so. It'd be more annoying to draw the res from the planet though -- another table involved. But adding H to the U cost proportional to the speed gain does sound interesting. Could also do something like level 1 is 4x, 2 6x, 3 8x, 4 10x or somesuch. Anyway, just my thoughts. Prolly harder for the new guy to code though, as by now I know almost the entire codebase like the back of my hand (though I've never paid that much attention to the back of my hand, so take that as you will ), and he's new to it, and I won't have the time to code something like this. If Prof likes it, he may have the new coder write it up sometime later.

Someone said this should use Hydrogen for fuel as well as building? I say no, or a very minimal amount, in case you haven't noticed there are several builings (well okay, two; Barracks and Fusion Reactor) that already run on Hydrogen. With these both running on full lvl 4, it's the equivalent of losing a days worth of x20 productoin every 24 hours; 50k something I believe.
