Actually you can tweak these numbers by branching your Hw's out some and using the intrest everyday to increase the intrest availabe across the planets. Any way. basically yes....

now (starting from this month) the interest has limits, so max interest you can get is 1mln of every resource per day (if you have 50 planets and have 1mln of every resource on every planet). But 4 months of wilde interest made a big job to professor, so he can be on top almost without any effort (of course he needs some time to buy assaults and crash them) :)

I'd suggest professor to close his current account and try to play as ordinary player - leaving away most of resources got by interest (he already used some of these res for attacks, but a big part is still left). So try to live with not more res as had at the end of last year with buying only 5000 credits per month and getting not too much of interest :) As according to my knowledge LTC decided not attack professor as there is absolutely no sense to do it - his lost HW will grow back in couple of days...

The criticism about not attacking was back in September / October timeframe, mostly from LTC members, and was partly associated with discussions about getting points for holding resources versus attacking, as well as what it means to be "successful" in the game.

Like Bert, I prefer to be more of a banker and builder to secure a stable position in the game. Over time, it became clear that with decimation of HWs in larger numbers than expected, and with the retreat of veteran players to floating HWs, some changes were needed.

The introduction of points for resources on planets was both upsetting to many players and inadequate as an incentive to keep HWs. Therefore, some change in incentives was needed to encourage people to rebuild HWs. The incentives worked, and resulted in too much change in strategy, so the incentives have been modified to move back towards a more middle ground from where we were in November 2005 compared with March 2006.

I do have fairly solid defenses now, on many planets (although not many troops left now due to using a few of them recently). And, like Filas (and apparently SmartFox also), I do have many planets with 1 million of each resource on them now to maximize interest income from my planets. But, I do worry about defenses, since my troops are mostly used up now, and I know that shield formulas are changing, so I am actively trying to get shield generators up to level four on all planets over the next few weeks.
