I think we need a major change in this area. Probing right now is very slow and annoying. Many players are not using probes because of this including myself. It can take hours to probe an area. I suggest an autoprober of some sort for SL. Can we have something like this by the end of the round. I know most clans already have one and are still using it. Swarm isnt because we were asked not to. This is not fair to the other players who do not have access to an autoprober. If everyone could have the same faster probing method it would be a lot better than the way probing is right now. Anyway this would make everyones life a lot easier.

I support this. Sending out 600+ probes manually per round can be quite exhauting and having an auto-prober would make life much better. It should positively contribute to more attacks and action of planet capture too.

probing is very powerful even now, and if someone using autoprobers, he is cheater and should be suspended.
Time is very important in the game - that is why we don't have hyper fighters and assaults, that's why any automatic things like autoprober, autoattacker, autocapturer and even automatic resource colletor would make damage to the game. Finally you can just have automatic player and don't do anything yourself - it would make everyones life very easy :)

I would prefer to have something like a multi-system probe option which probes multiple systems, but at random. This way, players who want to have a complete probe of the universe can still do it manually and slowly, but players who are just trying to probe 20 or 30 systems quickly to find some planets can have an easier way to do so than 20 or 30 probes.

maaak - 20 probes takes less than 10 minutes. If you use 20 probes everyday, you'll have 600 probes per round. You need much more time to capture all the planets you'll find :)

professor - with every additional random event in the game it goes more far from strategy game, as strategy depends on predictions, calculations and so on, not on random events. In such case you can just make lottery for points - someoene could win million points every round. It would be another nice random event :D

Filas-Who says I capture all the planets I find? The problem is typing in coords to send out lets say 100 probes or more at a sitting cause I don't have the time to send out 20 a day. My eyes can't take it and I walk away dizzy...I've sent out a few thousand probes already, I should know how long it takes to send them out. The game I have seen you play so far is gather, sell, and capture more SP planets if you lose a few. When are you going to use that strategy you talk about?

Strategy at this point is to grow as many res as you can.. If you want more action talk to those who voted for res growth with that 1%

I'm using strategies all the time. For keeping my planets safe I'm using "no nearby no chain" strategy, to find planets I'm using my probing strategy along with "exploring nearby" strategy, to make growth of res faster I'm using different strategies including capturing, trading, and gathering. All these strategies let me recover form loss of almost all res in january and now be near top10 players by points along with one of the biggest capitals in SL - having potential to get more than million points. If I had no strategy, I'd have now 1-2 HWs and no chances to compete for top positions.


Of course professor made changes which limited strategy a lot - combination of interest, shield power and buildings makes everyone to have HWs, warp gives no chance to know which planets are safe and makes random profits with no loss - someone can use warp 20 times and find nothing and someone can use it once and find a planet which will lead to the chain. In principle probing is also much dependent on luck, but it can be shielded using systematic probing, which will lead to statistical results, while warp has no system, just complete random luck.

I defitnetly agree with Filas don't change the probing it may take a while but the game would be boring if everything happened automatically
