Several people have suggested that in statistics, we include a list of the top ten players in terms of credits owned over time, or at the end of each day as well as at the end of a round. There might be various benefits of doing so, although I suspect that one of the motivations is to try to figure out who is buying credits over time.

At the current time, I am #11 on the list of top players with credits, and the top person on this list has about 7000 credits. There are several LTC and Swarm members on this list of top ten players by credits owned. Some players may not wish to have their credit holdings able to be seen by others, and some might want to have their data published.

Another statistic which might be useful is to know who the top players are by resources owned in total. I believe that I am #1 on that list even with my depletion of resources this round in attacks on LTC. However, the list of which players are in the top ten by resources owned might surprise you.

During March round, we will be discussing changes that might be worth making in April round. I would like to have some discussion in advance by game participants about whether it would be useful or appropriate to post player stats on either resources or credits or both. No decision has been made at this time on such information being shared, but I am open to making it part of the official game stats.

Another issue open for discussion for changing in April round and onward is the level of interest that is appropriate to be paid for HW resources. We set interest at 1% per day in January, and will keep it that way until end of March, but this might be an inappropriate level of interest to maintain after the end of the March round. Interest as a concept will remain, but the level of interest and the possibility of only paying interest on non-defense resources (rewarding risk since higher levels of non-defense resources on a planet significantly increase overall risk of being attacked).

Discussion in this topic or other topics on these and other issues related to possible changes for April round are welcome.

i say no statistics just make that "level of interest and the possibility of only paying interest on non-defense resources " thing

Players by planets obliterated
Players by posts
ALso Clans by rounds won
PLayers by Rounds won
Players by finishes in top 5 (at end of round)
PLayers by finishes in top 10 (at end of round)
PLayers by finishes in top 20 (at end of round)

No players by resources , it ruuins the suprise when two clans are head to head if you know how much resources they have got. Maybe if this data is relaeased and updated once a month it would be alright (I hope im high up :P)

well, as you got points from held resources everyday, it would be fair to have top players by resources known - then we can see who can get much points without attacking. I'd better say we need top50 of players by resources held on planets, as we don't get interest or points for res on ships so these res are not so important, and it will give a possibility to hide your resources from others on ships if you want to :)

Hope: The first two are doable. Cross round win stats aren't maintained in the db, so figuring them out would be painful (have to parse the past round history HTML files).

As for credits, one interesting change would be that if you defeat a player, you get their credits (kinda like Risk). Another would be formalized diplomacy (NAPs, senior/junior clans, and yellow ships in space). Hmm. Others I've found attractive are some kind of shipyard (scrap ships, repair ships, training, etc), and a few interface changes, such as a short term (till logout) coordinate bookmarking system, the ability to jump to ships like you can planets, and eliminating choice clicks when there is only one option (such as docking on a planet, when there is only one planet nearby, directly docking instead of asking you to choose the one planet). Hmm. Flag choice, nearby detects own planets if nobody else's nearby (so chains can be found), mod own topics, adding new voting sites. Just a few things from my list of things to do/consider.

Btw, I don't think I can get these all done in a single month ^_^;.

I like those the best but all the others are good too. So go with those first.

I love the idea of formalised naps/alliances with the yellow ships and planets, this would save on a lot of "mistakes". It could be a pain to code (I dont know) but maybe if the naps/alliances can be formalised in this way it could also be made impossible to attack a players ship & planets if you are allied with them. Of course there would have to be someway to "un nap" as well.

The resources and credits being shown I definately DO NOT like. I don't want my enemies knowing what I have at my disposal for defence/attack purposes. That's nearly as bad as showing how many ships a player has and what XP those ships have, NOT GOOD.

The scrap/recycling yard idea has been around since Skylords was born and never been implemented, this also would be a good change to make. Scrapping a ship could give you a percentage of the resources back. Maybe a new building could be a scrap/recycling yard and a ship has to dock at a planet with one of these buildings to be scrapped so that the resources are directly credited to that planet.

i dont liek teh idea of no interest on non defence res...

an interesting change as i think iiri mentioned would be a ship training building on a planet.....

something else that would be good is fi we could sell/buy planets on the market but i konw the codding would be a living hell for you and the possibilities of certain people cheating too high:whistle:

Best solution would maybe make intrest at 1% on non defensive resources
And NO intrest on defensive resources

There will still be hws with lots of res this way
And problem of growing hws will also go

Another Thing most people want to see go is the points for owning resources :S <---Pointless
