Agreed. We can not and should not implement all ideas. Fortunately, there are some clear trends in preferences emerging already from those that have taken the survey.

Runka I agree should have been two surveys. the ranked response first as the players preferences of what they would like see done to balance out the game and then a chaser vote a couple of days later on the top three choices narrowed down with follow up questions. I would have voted differently if I was sure that some of the options were no longer there.

All in all it should show us the way that most of SL players want SL to be. I also doubt that there will be enough people who will vote against whats in their best intrests to fairly balance the game. But thats life

LOL - Yes, I doubt people will vote against what is in their best interests. However, there is more than one way to achieve balance. The best option for balance is probably Iiridayn's (also suggested independently by Abe as well), but this option of assigning ships to planets is so far leading in negative votes against it. Many people strongly object to the option of ships assigned to planets which was an essential aspect of the game as originally developed by Zygi.

As for outcomes, I think the options given all would give us the means to increase the presence of HWs in the game. It is also impossible to keep everyone happy, but the results are likely to provide a fair balance between the overall interests and preferences of all citizens of the game.

The vote one some things like the turrets is interesting as they havent really been tested in the game so to vote on them is a bit of a poke in the dark.

Yeah, agreed. But, some strong opinions have been expressed by some. In part, this is the reason we have the option of voting don't know or don't care on that issue as well. Some players have strong opinions. Many do not have experience with using them for attack or defense. So far, only a few players have experienced both sides of turret attack and defense.

Filas is one person who has experienced both sides. I am another. I think they are reasonably fairly balanced now, but there are some who disagree with me on both sides of this issue.

Taken

And for the record, anything i tried to suggest normally conflicted with my playing style, I am willing to change my playing style for this game to be better, atm, just attacking which i was doing eariler this round and got 30k points ni 2 days, Its not the point, secondly the attacking time of this game is off, oh and the idea of forcing players to take longer in an attack for me is a good idea

Thanks Abe and Alpha. Yeah, options are limited. It is necessary to have some limits on options or we would not be able to a survey of reasonable length that could be completed. Also, some options suggested I have decided would be best ignored or not included in the survey (e.g., ship probes, which have been suggested several times in the past and which have consistently been voted down in prior surveys).

The ship assigned to planet idea is new, as it has been proposed herein. The idea of a delay in posting locations of assigned ships (to give players time to log in and move them) and the idea of only giving coordinates and not automatically deleting ships was a lot better than the old system of assigning ships to planets, for example. Thus, it was included here in spite of being an idea that generally has been rejected over and over if done in the way it was originally designed in the game. This solution would eliminate the worst of the old system of ship assignments and provide some of the benefits in terms of value of a HW of the prior system.

Taken. I realize ship storage of resources is probably a bigger concern than the market problem and must be addressed. However, I was disappointed to here that the market situation will not be fixed until late January. I don’t feel the way the market is currently being used is in the spirit that was intended, when it was first created.
