well, thats one point of view, but would still like to have a limit for credits you can buy, rich players will continue to buy credits as it doesn't matter to them, however for players that don't buy credits, this is getting expensive :(

Professor don't confuse yourself and your meanings.

Upgrading past 36 planets doesn't mean you are a good player, it just means you are a rich player who can afford to sell his resources to get to that level.

Players who spend all they have to attack possibly won't be able to afford to reach 50 planets, but could get a reasonable sum through credits given for winning a round.

Player who sits around and hoardes rather than attacks can easily afford to reach 50 planets and take harvested resources from the extra planets and sleep on a bigger pile of resources :D

I think the better players (if you take good player to be a player with lots of points) will not be able to afford as many planets as a player who has done little for many rounds other than gather their resources.

WOAH! That is a :censored: load of credits of credits to upgrade.

These changes are getting out of hand now. Don't you think we've had enough changes for a LONG TIME. Not only that, but this change is a quite large.

These changes are getting really annoying.

Well, it might be worth noting that the players with the most points in the game are also the players with the most credits. Players with the most credits are generally players who have never purchased any credits with cash, but who had a lot of resources on HWs to sell. And, players who have invested in upgrades to hold more planets tend to have more resources to sell for credits as well as more troops to use in capturing HW planets.

The credits to get 50 planets upgrade in this round are 1250. The credits to get 50 planets in the next round will be 2125. That is an increase of 70% in the cost of maximum upgrade. Is it a lot of credits? Sure. But, the payoff from upgrading is that you get a return of 7363 credits from these 25 extra planets if you hold them for the entire round and neglect the cost of capturing them. Even with cost of capturing the planets included, the payback on upgrading is more than double the credits (if you sell troops on the market) of the cost of paying for the upgrades.

So, is the cost high? Depends on your perspective. The returns are much higher than the cost.

As to being a rich player, holding more planets means getting more resources from harvesting. Several players have started with nothing, leveraged their limited harvesting up via selling in the market to get more planets, and now have maximum planets fully harvesting resources to use in expanding their empire. You don't have to be rich to upgrade, as the planet limit upgrades pay back the cost today in less than 6 days of production.

However, these changes will make it a bit easier for players with less resources to get modest levels of planet upgrades and harder for rich players to dominate the game. By the way, most of the "rich" players are "rich" not from buying credits for cash, but from selling accumulated resources from their old homeworlds to get credits via the market.

Meh perhaps, but I feel that if those players had a hard round where they could do little then perhaps they wouldn't be able to uphold planets.

Looking at that ^^ this change may have come at the right time to bring more equality to the level of credits players have...maybe.

Yeah. Of course, with one player who was not fighting in the last round (name deleted) having more credits than the next ten players combined, not sure that we will have equality anytime soon. Then again, selling a HW on the market and sitting by quietly in peace while other players are killing each other is a good way to build up credits fast.

:O Professor you should know better! Releasing information like that about that player, in real life wouldn't that be illegal in some freaky business way? :D

For user protection I htink you should delete the name ;)

Well, Filas was #1 in credits for a long time. Not after last round, however. Several Lith players have been in the top 5 credits holdings list for players over time. None have paid for credits.

In fact, no player who has purchased credits has ever been on the top of the credits list that I can recall, and the big credit owners have all been large sellers of resources.

Players buying credits are not rich, and mostly buy $10 to $20 worth of credits at one time, with those credits quickly being spent in most cases on upgrades or resources.

There is no need to have limits on credits, as no players have abused the purchase of credits, with those few players buying $50 of credits at a time mostly using the credits to recover from loss of a HW to get back into the game faster in a reasonable competitive position.

The players who are rich in credits got that way by playing the game for a long time and building up resources on their HW or HWs. They were rich in resources before, and are rich in credits now, and many have traded their wealth in credits for troops on the market to get points to rise to the top of rankings for a round or in terms of total points earned. There is nothing dishonorable about using resources earned over a lot time to trade for troops to get points from attacking. The points have come fast, but the resources took a long time to gather and many of these players have been patiently accumulating assets for a long time (like I have been doing, with most of my assets used for defense, but still convertible at some exchange ratio into troops to use for attacking should I someday decided to do so).
