Oh, I did use this button a while back to say goodbyes to friends in both CiDG and AiDG after I had to leave those clans in order to preserve harmony in the game for those who felt I would be inclined to use administrator powers to favor a single clan over other clans. Given the potential for abuse, I believe that critics who asked me to leave my clan were right to do so, but it hurt a lot at the time. If it had not been necessary to save the game, I think I would have preferred staying in the clan and having Zygi stay as game owner, but that was not an option. Zygi was going to shut down the game if I had not bought it and revived it.

Is the game fair? Yes, as fair as I can make it. Have I abused my information access. I would like to have you show me any possible evidence that I have ever done so. I have had the ability since owning the game to see every message, every planet, every ship, every clan post, and every tiny bit of information about the game as often as I wished.

I have chosen not to do so, but also to continue to play the game as a player in the game. I also have been a relatively passive player, and in general, have probably been helpful to the game overall. Mostly, I harvest and build defense and trade, which is essentially how I was playing long before buying the game.

Finally, as for MoM feeling targeted by my comments, no, I was not directing anything at you specifically by my statements. I was reacting to content of statements, not the speaker. Actually, I am a bit surprised you are back after you were so angry before and after I tried to ban every IP address you had used (but then you moved, obviously). Since you have been quiet well behaved in terms of not swearing since your return to the game, I have not had any problems with you being here. If I wanted to suspend you, I could have asked Iiridayn just to ignore your requests for help with your account after you effectively blocked yourself from accessing your own account, but I did not do so.

As for Neggy, I like many things about him. I was not happy to suspend him, but I could not tolerate his actions. It is not Neggy that I dislike, but what he did. That was not acceptable behavior, and he had to be suspended as he would not accept a nice warning.

MoM: Suprisingly I am doing an AS Level in law currently (along with my GSCE's) however it's obvious that:

1) We have different laws, coming from different countries

and 2) That I have a different take on laws than you. Laws state what you can and cannot do, the severity of punishments and what laws exactly mean in a literal term is a thing of practicallity, because my views are different from yours you call them wrong, as anyone would in law and this is acceptable.

Also it is clear you are not a law student No where in Rules 3 or 4 does it state anything about "offensive" material, only abusive. Neggys swearing was abusive, so he broke the rules. Reporting this breach of rules may have been offensive to Neggy, but that breaks no rules

The suspension is very understood..... Its just the loss that hurts. not off neggy but of all the clans recs. the method how it had to happen.......

as for me coming back. Proff..... belive it or Not. YOU are not SL..... it existed long before and will exist long afyter your time....... what I experienced on sl when I first join..... the community the comraderie..... the diversity is why I will always plays..... and forever be apart of this game...... ban me or Not.....

It is also obvious that MoM is not an attorney. However, I am an attorney (that is ONE of my multiple degrees), and I can assure you that the right of the game owner to set rules trumps any right of an individual to express himself with offensive language. In fact, even a city ordinance would be valid that prohibited speech like Neggy used. There are rules in society about what is or is not acceptable behavior. Neggy's words might be fine in NY, but they could result in a large fine in some cities in the southern states or in some mid-West smaller cities.

Now, specificially to MoM, do not try to put others down for ignorance of the Law when you personally are displaying a greater lack of understanding of legal issues than the person you are criticising.

American has strong protection of free speech, but the US Supreme Court also recognizes the right of a community to limit freedom of speech for offensive language which does not serve to provide an important and significant political or religious significant role in the community. Skylords is a private community. As such, rules can be made and enforced.

Proff did the right thing. It is his responsibility if it is brought to his attention to deal with it. The problem is that those in the clan could have handled it better.

The offended clanmate should have Pm'd the clan leader asking him to get on neggy for his language. If neggy was apologetic, and corrected his posts then it would had hopefully fixed things. If neggy was being nonapologetic to the clan leader in his response he should have been seperated from the clan and had his posts deleted. Then Neggy would have been all of our peoblem and if he was still cursing it would then have then been appropriate to involve the Proff.

Proff was just doing his job.
