So can someone give me a rundown of clans, politics, and how they came to be.

This is what I know...

When I joined 11 years ago, there was TheSwarm, The Space Rangers, Chaos in da Galaxy, Space Cowboys, and LTC as the main clans from what I remember.

TheSwarm members formed The Space Rangers with either the rest of the members joining at a later time or joining other clans (TheSwarm disappeared after round 19 but was active with TSR in the same round) .

The Space Rangers made a training clan called Shadow Industries. A few rounds later, The Space Rangers were renamed to The Order after Texas Fury became inactive I believe (around round 25).

A bit later, The Order and Armageddon merged and became The Swarm (round 27). Shadow Industries was becoming overwhelmed and made another training clan called Shadow Guard.

Chaos in da Galaxy also had a training clan called Anarchy in da Galaxy...they also branched off into IDG Elite Force and I think that was renamed to Elite in da Galaxy. I don't remember if this was another one of their training clans or if some members just split but there was also Shikshiena and Shikshiena Jr.

Space Cowboys made a training clan called SC Academy.

LTC always remained LTC...though there was a TERRORISTS LT that I don't think was related.

I don't remember much about alliances..just that at one point TSR was considering one with Space Cowboys me thinks...also everyone was against LTC. Saint Baakra was caught spying on TS for LTC and there was a whole uproar how she got caught (at the time kotica had a training website where you had to log in and SB was showing two IP addresses so he asked professor about it and professor revealed that it was Smartfox logging in).

I don't know how the clans came to be today. I know The Swarm, ChaosInDaGalaxy, Space Cowboys, LTC, TERRORIST LT still remain listed but I have no recollection of how Apocalypse started or if Shadow Hive is a remnant of Shadow Industries?

As Shadow Industries' players gained more experience and grew to a pretty large group of people, we spawned the Shadow Guard as a training clan.

After the big crashes, a lot of players disappeared, and various clans were disbanded.

Shadow Hive was conceived as a training clan that is friendly with The Swarm.

As I remember it, TERRORISTS LT just had one member, who has been defeated.

Im here nearly 11 years now on and off.

I came through anarachy and graduated to chaos, just before it became less active.

EIDG was a revival of sorts.

Does anyone remember was it AIDG or CIDG that natsla abe deleted and there was so much spam it in the private forums that the deletion crashed the server?

So I joined in September of 2005, in October Armageddon was formed and I joined dogg, Iiri, hmmm, who else was in it... don't recall but we gave LTC a run for their money that month and would have won points/member but they dumped a bunch of players to take it- the next month November 2005 dogg formed Apocalypse as a training clan for Armageddon and I moved to it, then later that month Armageddon merged with ummm someone to form The Swarm - I wanted stability and so I stuck with Apoc and have been around it most of the time aside from a few sabbaticals --- at one point the code provided for a clans disbanding if it had 0 points in a month, thus most of the other clans have had to be reformed at some point which has made Apoc have the oldest formation date since I'd wager we've had the most regular activity--

I'd say Dogg and I killed LTC when we wiped out Wein by taking his 25 planets in one afternoon after he'd been on that morning (Wein said he had been Lord Airon... though I always did wonder if it was really him or if it was actually SF reincarnate) then Simbaa ran out of steam I think without wein around and deleted his account after he gave away most of his stuff and was defeated...

politics... hmmm, not sure, has been bit of peace for the most part, some people looking for more activity by having a little bit of a scrap between active players instead of hitting inactives- see if that happens ever.... I'm fairly easy going, though if you take one of my planets I'll take one of yours (well maybe more than one... and it might be a year down the road) otherwise I'm fairly content at hitting inactives to clear out some of them

Wait wait wait you're saying Armageddon became part of The Swarm?...I was in The Space Rangers and then The Swarm when they merged...but I thought The Space Rangers merged with the current swarm at the time...not Armageddon. Hmm.

I remember there was almost an all out war on Ghost Negotiator or someone...Guardian Angel was kicked out of TSR for stealing and pissing off pretty much everyone...and then he got banned for having multiple accounts which made Professor check everyone's account and a ton more people got banned.

Ya, Round 25 was when Armageddon came about and looking at it I think it was The Order that they merged with to form The Swarm... you might have gone inactive before that since The Swarm disappeared between Feb 2005 that Hope mentioned in his post and Sept 2005... So looking more round 19 was last month of swarm then picked up again in round 27 when Arm and Order merged

You're right. Thanks Cajin ! I've updated the original post with what I believe actually happened. I forgot about The Order...I sort of remember it although it's a bit fuzzy. I think there was a debate in the clan forums on what to call ourselves.
