So the council can vote on proposed changes to Newb Arena, we need some proposed changes. So post what you think should be changed to help new players out.

Ive been wanting to implement New player mission videos for awhile now.
In each mission if the new player should get stuck or confused on what to do, a link will be placed e.g "show me", which once clicked leads to a video on exactly how to do what the certain mission requires. It would be easy to implement and certainly beneficial.

My thoughts:
Starting ships, 100k tranny, 50k assault, 1k fighter, probe- have them named what they are instead of some odd name like Mnemosyne.
Starting resources: 30k of each on their planet
Auto-generated PM and mission to check your PMs, or one to get on the IRC chat
Implement videos related to the missions, think EL has some, but they'd have to be redone based on changes that are made.

Think all of your ideas are vitally needed to be implemented.
A rewrite of the missions maybe needed also.
On the video note, I decided to wait until the council discussed the changes to the new player arena before I made the videos but will be fairly easy to create.

yeah, all changes to missions should be completed before you start making videos, cause we don't want you pumping in effort to a mission that is later decided to be discarded

Get rid of probing mission anyone?
