Market prices have somewhat caved since the new upgrade prices etc.. were put in place.

It costs 1250 credits for a full planet limit upgrade, with current troop prices at 22 cpu per unit it would cost 5.7m troops sales just to get enough credits for a 50 planet limit.

To me this seems a somewhat ludicrious cost in resources, my question is simple, should the prices be lowered to something more sensible? (as of the start of a round, not halfway through as this would give unfair advantage to some players)

With the new voting formula we are able to get seven times more cps in than before.

I wonder why marketprices dropped down.

Well at last it is the market. We are making the prices. Not prof.

I cannot see why marketprices should be the reason for changings.

Now each one has the chance to decide what to do with his cps.

But i agree - 1250 cps are expensive.

1250 is not exspensive

once you hit 50 planets you will be able to make enough troops to support that and more

so for 6mln T you can get 25 additional production planets. One 10x planet can produce 14,4k T per day, so in 30 days, you can have 432k T from one planet, or 10.8mln T from 25 planets.
So if you are active, it is still worth to buy upgrades. But if you are not sure you can hold max amount of planets, then better not purchase upgrades. Then you can use your credits for purchsing res and prices for res can go up.

Some people objected to price ceilings and floors, and it was not a true market pricing mechanism with autobuy or autosell. So, we eliminated them. When the market was first introduced, this seemed to be a needed feature, as some reasons might not have been sold at all and others might not be available to purchase unless there was non-player buying and selling.

However, there are no resources for which we have no buyers (although the price might have to be lower than you would like for some), and there are no resources for which there are no sellers (although large trades might be better to negotiate in trading forum, as they tend to move market prices too much which large volumes are purchased from offered goods only).

With 25 planets they can earn that in half a month ;)
I believe there's no need to reduce upgrade prices as they are still worth to buy as Filas said and it is quite good now when they are worth to buy not for every player, but for those who will manage not to suffer losses from them. The more steps to consider in the game, the better the game.

But i think it would be interesting to hear how the amount of credits spent on upgrades changes through time, especially due to many new players coming. I like Filas suggestion about 20 places awarded and i still feel the awards could be somehow related to the amount spent for upgrades that month - the more strong players, the bigger the winnings could be.

It has nothing to do with rich gets richer and poor gets poorer, just the rivalry increases (or decreases) overtime due to new players entering or old players quiting. I believe players that goes for top positions are only those who buy upgrades. The more we have them, the more hard is to win.

As for noobs, you earn 14400 T without V from a 10x planet a day. It is 15-16 days to get 1250 credits :)
